OMG no! Why would NY or any other state ever ruin the sanctity of marriage and destroy marriages forever just as it has done in MA, CT, Iowa, VT, and soon to be NH?!
…Seriously how can anyone be so naive to think this? I’m from MA so we know what it is like to live with these RIGHTS. I canvassed in Maine where there was supposedly a “live and let live” motto within the state that did not hold true. When can we finally get pissed off and do something about it?! I feel as though if Martin Luther King Jr. were alive today he would be ashamed of the manner in which this nation is reacting though not surprised. We need to keep at it and show the country that we are people that are contributing to society just like everyone else!
It is SO important that we ALL come out to everyone that we encounter and that we do it with tact and pride. This also means everyone that is an ally, come out as an ally. Talk about your friends, family, or acquaintences that are GLBTQ to really put a face on the issue. People learn best through their experiences and without sharing these experiences with them, it is easy to just write it off.
…Change is coming! I know I have posted this in the past but I want to reassure our neighbors to the west that we still love them and we will just have to keep working harder. We are the future and the future is in the graph but we can’t get complacent!!
